MY BROTHER'S KEEPER
President Barack Obama launched the My Brother's Keeper initiative in February 2014, to address persistent opportunity gaps faced by boys and young men of color and ensure that all young people can reach their full potential.
The Community Council of Metropolitan Atlanta, Inc. (CCMA) and Strengthening Families and Communities Coalition Atlanta (SFCC) hosted My Brother’s Keeper Collaborative Symposium on Tuesday, August 18, 2015, 6:00 pm at the Interdenominational Theological Center, to share information about MBK programs sponsored by cities and counties in the metropolitan area; to hear from young men of color about their special challenges and needs; and to help the community to become actively involved in efforts to make a difference in the lives of young men of color. Panelists included representatives from city, state, county, federal governmental agencies, and non-profit organizations.
The My Brother’s Keeper Collaborative Symposium was the first of its kind, and was attended by over 125 persons. This free event and was open the public. |
