The Community Council of Metropolitan Atlanta is finalizing the 2014 Priority Male Institute for young inner city males, 18-28 years of age, and is issuing a call for volunteer trainers, workshop leaders, panelists and keynote speakers for the sessions.
This free 12-week institute will run from March 3, 2014 – May 23, 2014 and include personal assessments, self management, heritage lessons, interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, communication skills, etiquette, image, financial literacy, vocational exploration, entrepreneurship, interviewing skills, resume preparation, work ethics, and basic computer skills. Classes: Sessions are interactive 2-3 hour presentations that will provide young black males with information, tools and resources they will need to succeed. These sessions are designed to engage participants in hands-on active learning associated with the topic. Interactive activities, such as role playing, should be included in the session. Presenters are also encouraged to use presentation software such as PowerPoint to enhance their presentation. Equipment will be provided by CCMA. Panels: Discussions include the criminal justice system, entrepreneurship, and training/education. At least three presenters, with a unique perspective on the topic, will use 5-10 minutes each to present their views. Participants will have open discussion, moderated by the lead presenter, for the remainder of the session. Keynote Speakers: Approximately 15 minutes for inspirational remarks that will inspire and motivate students. If you are interested in serving as a workshop leader/trainer, panelist or keynote speaker, please complete the response form. You may also contact us by phone at 404/935-5859 or email at [email protected]. Thank you for supporting our efforts to empower young males to live more productive lives! |
