Greetings,
The Community Council of Metropolitan Atlanta, Inc. (CCMA) serves economically marginalized at-risk youth and young men of color, 18-28 years of age, to help them live more productive lives. Compelling statistics validate the need to address the issues of one of the most disadvantaged population in the African American community, the young Black male. In the midst of COVID-19, young Black men are facing even more daunting challenges. They are disproportionally unemployed due to the nature of the jobs they hold. Further, many have been unable to access in-person training and other resources that they sorely need to obtain sustainable employment and overcome the challenges that they face. The Propel Virtual Academy was created to provide virtual job readiness and personal development training, mentoring, and other viable resources young Black men during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, we need the support of others to generate funds for this life enhancing initiative. A donation of any amount will help us to provide training, handbooks, educational supplies, laptop computers, WIFI services, and other resources for twenty students. We hope that you will join us to empower young men of color. If you have recently made a donation to CCMA, we truly appreciate your support. Please share this appeal with others. Norma Joy Barnes, CEO/President Community Council of Metropolitan Atlanta, Inc. |
