The Community Council of Metropolitan Atlanta is proud to present the “Father of the Year Award to Maurice A. Reese, a man who not only gives to his family, but gives to others. For the past six years, he has been a generous supporter of CCMA with his ongoing donations, although he was faced with challenges in his life.
Maurice Reese is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. He is the proud father of two children and one grandson, and is actively involved in their lives. In addition to his family commitments, Maurice has coached little league baseball and basketball, helping to develop athletic skills in other youth, and has played and coached on an adult co-ed softball team.
Maurice mentored children of all ages when he volunteered for the Boys and Girls Club. He has provided personal assistance to BlazeSports America, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, where his son is an active junior wheelchair basketball player. Maurice loves and believes in family unity, and has provided leadership for his family as the President of their family heritage club. He frequently hosts special occasions and events for family and friends.
Maurice attends Word of Faith Family Worship Cathedral in Cobb County. He loves to travel, especially on cruises with his son; and enjoys all sports, being an Atlanta Falcon season ticket holder for years.
Maurice received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Management from Morehouse College, Atlanta, Georgia. He currently serves as Chief Operations Officer for TenderCare Clinic located in Greensboro Georgia, previously serving as Financial Advisor to help individuals prepare and plan for a secure retirement. Maurice also worked as Finance Director of the Georgia Association for Primary Health Care (GAPHC), and Oakhurst Community Health Center, where the goal was providing quality health care to the indigent.
We applaud Maurice Reese for his generous spirit and accomplishments. A “Renaissance Man” in the true sense of the word, he deserves the 2015 “Father of the Year Award”!
